Whether it’s a festival or a sports game, you’ll find Laura at the heart of it all.
Having worked in TV production, writing, research, radio, marketing or sponsorship, Laura has made her mark in the media and events industry for the past 10 years. Her passion for what is current and happening in the event and activation space stems from attending hundreds of concerts and festivals, and spending hours in the seats of sports stadiums. She says and I quote, “I love nothing more than a great stadium experience where crowd participation and brand integration are clever and thought provoking. Even better when it is subliminal!”
Having lived in the USA and Europe, and nannied in Russia for four years she admits to having being bit by a travel bug. However, insists there is nothing quite like coming home to New Zealand.
1. Which campaign in your career are you most proud to have worked on?
I think anything that comes from concept to fruition has made me proud as punch. In saying that, I do recall doing a full re-brand for a radio station. After spending all Christmas working with the designer and coming up with artwork and a roll out that we were really proud of, during our last phase presenting to final stake holders, the whole thing was put in the bin. That was a humble moment to say the least, and one that I probably learned the most from.
2. Which person, dead or alive, would you love to have dinner with?
Being a bit of true crime fanatic, I would be fascinated to spend time with one of Americas most wanted. Also, I feel like dinner with the Obamas would be pretty inspiring as well.
3. What show are you currently bingeing on Netflix? And what makes it so ‘bingeable’?
I love nothing more than a marathon on a rainy day. Schitts Creek is my current obsession. If you know, you know. Moira is just everyone with a sense of humours spirit animal!
4. What’s your go-to drink? And why?
Anything that is wine matched with a delicious meal always goes down a treat. My Chardonnay pallet is growing as I age. I have progressed from Buttery to Oaky.
5. Name one thing on your bucket list
I have always had a heartbeat for Africa and I would love to spend time there volunteering with children. Selfishly I would need to be on Safari for a wee while before coming home!
