Coffee connoisseur, social media specialist, and brave globetrotter: Jess is here to stir some new flavour into our Because blend. Here’s what we’ve uncovered on our latest team ingredient.

Jess isn’t just a social scroller. She’s pure gold as a social-media pro, especially in crafting content and influencer strategies. “It’s horrendously Gen Z, but I’m obsessed with IG filters, and I spend far too long curating a story with the perfect aesthetic,” explains Jess.

“I like to follow influencers that take time to create their posts and work, much like I do. I then take artistic inspiration from them. Also, I follow influencers that not only post selfies of their sponsors but ones which can help, inspire, or teach me something. Like, for example, good recipes, mental health advice, or clever podcasts. Some of my favourite influencers: Jess Conte, The Fit Londoner, Sophie Tea Art, and The Food Medic.

When she’s not crafting content or baking Squid Game biscuits (more on this later), Jess can be found in the gym, losing herself in the pages of a good murder mystery or walking through the countryside with friends. Failing that, she’s most likely with her family. ‘I’m hugely family-orientated. My parents, sister and I are a strong team. I’ve spent a lot of my life travelling with them as my parents took us to amazing places such as Dubai, Monaco, Mexico, Bahamas, Maldives, Egypt, and New York and Canada. If not skiing the mountains or reading on a sun lounger, these days, you’ll find me at my parents’ house on a Sunday afternoon for a roast,” explains Jess.

While we’re on the topic of food, Jess’s signature adventurousness isn’t restricted to her wanderlust. “I love food, especially Asian dishes, but I’m also a massive fish fan so that’s usually my menu choice,” says Jess. “My boyfriend and I have started doing veggie-only meals on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, meat on Wednesday and Sunday, and fish on Friday. We both love cooking and it’s been fun experimenting with different recipes to make non-meat meals more exciting and interesting.”

Music is another passion of Jess’s. Here’s what we can expect from her turn as office DJ: “I’ve been a dedicated One Direction fan since 2010, but now I’m focusing solely on Harry Styles. My other top Spotify artists: Catfish and the Bottlemen, Still Woozy, Sticky Fingers, and The Growlers.” She also has a playlist called “Roof open” with the best classic bangers for those summer drives with the roof open, we can’t wait to hear it.

Her friends describe Jess as sarcastic, generous, reliable, and always up for a laugh. We’re looking forward to getting to know her better ourselves, so we asked her our five essential get-to-know-you questions.

1. Which campaign or role in your career are you most proud to have worked on?

Since it’s still early in my career, I haven’t worked on any big campaigns yet. However, during my first few days at my internship, I got to arrange and meet several influencers. I met Danielle Peazer (Liam Payne’s ex) at the Zipline in Archbishops Park. She is so lovely! It was definitely a surreal experience and a lot of responsibility for the Uni student intern…

2. Which person, dead or alive, would you love to have dinner with?

Robin Williams. There would never be a dull moment. He was my childhood hero after watching Mrs Doubtfire.

3. What show are you currently bingeing on Netflix? And what makes it so ‘bingeable’?

Before I started this job, I finally had the downtime to watch Squid Game. I was late to the party, but I’m glad I finally got to watch it. I even tried making the infamous honeycomb biscuits shown in the series – but it didn’t work out. I burnt the sugar and made a big sticky mess!

4. What’s your go-to drink? And why?

As a caffeine addict, it has to be an Espresso Martini.

5. Name one thing on your bucket list.

I have a long list, but at the top of it: to volunteer at an elephant sanctuary, like this one in Thailand. I also want to spontaneously go to the airport without a destination in mind. Once there, I’ll buy a ticket for the next international flight available.
