Our new artistically talented family member has a passion for communicating through smarter design and creative illustrations, and now, thankfully, she’s able to share it with our Because team. When Annabel isn’t practising or refining her talents behind a computer screen or sketchbook, she spends her downtime with friends and family, preferably on beach trips, or taking part in arguably the best pastimes of all: reading, naps, and lie-ins, especially on a lazy Sunday.

When it comes to hobbies, Annabel has moved on from the figure skating and horse-riding of her youth to more sedate current ones: baking and cooking, something which her new colleagues are delighted to hear as willing taste testers. Annabel’s weaknesses: she loves anything cute and fluffy, can’t say no to a good Aperol Spritz, and has dubious taste when it comes to reality TV series.

We wanted to find out more about what makes Annabel tick – so we asked her five essential questions.

1. Which campaign in your career are you most proud to have worked on?

As this is my first design job out of university, it’s a bit early to say. However, I’m looking forward to what is in store for me here at Because. I know I will have a better answer very soon.

2. Which person, dead or alive, would you love to have dinner with?

Louis Theroux. I love watching documentaries, and he is one of my favourite filmmakers and journalists. I really enjoy his podcasts too. I think he’d have amazing stories to tell and great life advice to share around a dinner table, and all of it would be delivered in his soothing voice.

3. What show are you currently bingeing on Netflix? And what makes it so ‘bingeable’?

The other series that I binged previously are off Netflix now, and it is a little embarrassing to admit, but my current series is Love Island. As bad as it is, I can’t stop watching it, especially when it’s so hard to go on holiday at the moment, and the drama helps too. I like to think of it as vicariously tanning through them.

4. What’s your go-to drink? And why?

Aperol Spritz (but weather dependent, of course.) It reminds me of pub trips in England and holidays abroad. I’ve prewarned my friends that it will be strictly an Aperol Spritz ONLY zone at my wedding.

5. Name one thing on your bucket list.

I would love to visit Hobbiton in New Zealand; I’m a huge Lord of the Rings fan, so it would be amazing to see it all in real life.
