She’s the latest edition to our Cape Town team, a wine guru and family girl.
Alex Fenner-Solomon, newly appointed Global Database & Digital Marketing Assistant who joined the Because team in September. Based in Cape Town, Alex has just completed her Master’s Degree in Marketing at the University of Edinburgh.
When not behind her computer screen data mining, Alex enjoys the outdoors as well as socialising with friends and family, or enjoying a fine glass of wine. Having completed her Master’s dissertation on the consumers perceptions on wine in a can, Alex has a keen interest in the wine industry. This is not a surprise for many Capetonian’s as they have the finest wine farms on their doorstep and this is where Alex discovered her unwavering love for a cold glass of Rosé. She has a rather large family and always puts them first no matter what, which of course includes her four-legged friends.
1. Which campaign in your career are you most proud to have worked on?
Being new to the Because team I haven’t had a major role working on any specific campaigns, but have rather seen them brought to life. That being said, I would like to mention the Amazon Home of Imagination campaign which was an absolutely incredible project, as well as Sydney Water “Bring it to win it”. Both are true examples of what Because stands for, which is not one single entity but more about encapsulating unique brand love every time.
2. Which person, dead or alive, would you love to have dinner with?
This question is an absolute no-brainer for me, it would have to be Leonardo DiCaprio. Not only has he been my man crush since he starred in the legendary movie Titanic, but he is also an environmentalist and can be identified as one of the most active celebrities in the climate change movement. He can always catch me if he can.
3. What show are you currently bingeing on Netflix? And what makes it so ‘bingeable’?
At the moment, I am currently binge-watching Grey’s Anatomy, for the third time. For those of you who don’t know what it is (you are missing out), it’s a medical drama series. The show is sixteen seasons long – maybe that gives you an indication of it’s “binge-ability”.
4. What’s your go-to drink? And why?
Well if that hasn’t been made clear already, the answer is wine. Or if I had to choose something else there is nothing quite like a refreshing G&T.
5. Name one thing on your bucket list
I absolutely love travelling so this was probably the most challenging question to answer. It’s hard to name one thing, but I would have to say it would be to visit the Northern Lights or to see the African Serengeti migration.
