Perception is an incredibly powerful thing, as demonstrated in this social experiment from Dove.
The brand, which has set about over the last few years celebrating “real beauty”, brought in a FBI trained forensic artists who drew two sketches of women taking part in the experiment. The first is based on a description that the woman gives of herself, the second is drawn when a stranger describes them.
It is a great way to demonstrate that “women are their own harshest critic” and drive home Dove’s positioning as a brand that understands what women need.
