The 14th of October will see the very exciting launch of the AFA VISION 2020 Conference, a virtual conference our Because AU team, the appointed lead agency on the event, has been working on with The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) and TPM Events.
Traditionally the conference has been a three-day live event that takes place in a capital city, but this years’ unique circumstances offered the AFA and Because the opportunity to rethink the approach.
AFA VISION 2020 won’t just be another Zoom call, it will be produced in a similar way to a professional TV production. It will be hosted by Nigel Collin on a main stage at the Museum of Contemporary Arts at Sydney Harbour, and broadcast live to delegates across the country. The event will feature over 35 live speakers, including Nat Cook (Gold Medalist Olympian) and Senator Jane Hume. There will also be five live industry panel sessions, polls, live Q&As networking opportunities, and a virtual expo with more than 20 sponsors.
Meet some of the key speakers
For four months post the conference, delegates will also have access to the full conference content including a library of industry expert content, which all count towards professional development points. The conference sessions and associated presentations will also still be accessible for that period for delegates to watch, or rewatch, at their leisure.

The conference is the AFA’s major event on the calendar, and the virtual online format now allows more people to participate, as it opens it up to those living in regional towns who would usually find it challenging to travel interstate or spend time out of the office. COVID-19 or no COVID-19, it’s set to be an event like no other…an exciting must-attend event, and the Because AU team are thrilled to have helped bring it to life.
