Earlier this year, we posted an update about our CSR initiatives for 2018 – including the work we do through Uthando, a non-profit and Fair Trade in Tourism accredited organisation, to help raise funds for life-changing community development projects in South Africa.
This year, we helped fund the development of our project, the Zizamele Educare Centre in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, which is now complete, I was lucky enough to attend the opening in Cape Town last month.
After the project was completed, we received some great feedback from Bukeka Mandlantse, the Principal at Zizamele.
“On behalf of Zizamele Educare Centre’s team, please thank everyone who played a part in donating to the building and all other goodies for our new ECD centre. It is so beautiful and a dream coming into reality for us. We will really strive to continue providing the best education possible to children in our community and keeping them safe. We are so grateful and proud of what you have done for us. Enkosi kahkulu (thank you very much).”
Since July, we have moved onto the construction of our fourth centre, the Masibulele Educare Centre.
