Talented designer? Check. World-class photographer? Check. Aspiring eye-wear model? Check. (OK, maybe not the last one – but he could be!).
But there’s so much more to our Head of Design in the UK than his creative abilities and love of spectacles. When he’s not burning the midnight oil at the office putting together beautiful creative for our clients, he’s taking care of his two cheeky boys and squeezing in a game of footie or a quick swim at the local pool.
This guy has his hands full!
Chris started his career at a motor advertising agency working on the Ferrari and Porsche accounts, which later lead him to work for Formula One Management. A few years later, he moved over to the world of packaging for FMCG brands such as Procter & Gamble, L’Oreal and Pepsi before becoming a lead designer at Sony.
He joined the Because UK team in January, and the rest, as they say, is history!
He also recently started an Instagram account showcasing his incredible photography skills.
So what makes this creative genius tick? We sat down and asked him our 5 critical get-to-know-you questions to find out:
1. Which campaign in your career are you most proud to have worked on?
My first ever global campaign because I was really excited to work with such a talented team on an iconic sports brand. I worked at Formula One Management where we produced key visuals for each F1 race event during the 2007 season. It was a real buzz seeing our campaign live for the first time and I learnt a huge amount from the lead designer and creative director.
2. Which person, dead or alive, would you love to have dinner with?
Probably David Bailey. Photography is a passion of mine and I love the musical era of the ’60s and ’70s. David has shot some of the most iconic bands/artists including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bowie… so I’m sure he would have some great stories.
3. What show are you currently bingeing on Netflix? And what makes it so ‘bingeable’?
The last show I watched on Netflix was Stranger Things. Having grown up in the ’80s it felt very nostalgic.
4. What’s your go-to drink? And why?
It’s changed over the years but I do like a pint of Guinness these days.
5. Name one thing on your bucket list.
I’ve always wanted to live abroad for a period of time – New York would be nice!
